Orange County’s own Amber Neben is a top pro Road and Time Trial Cyclist. She has so many credits to her name: Tour de L’aude winner in 2006, 2nd Place in the Women’s Giro d’Italia 2008, US Olympian, and World Time Trial Champion of 2008. WOW! What a career! She is definitely an inspiration for her skill and dedication. In spite of a dramatic crash at last year’s Women’s Giro d’Italia, she took fifth place in the Tour de L’Ardeche . Currently she is on the mend after another race-day incident a couple of months ago, and sports massage is one part of her multifaceted healing regimen.
Best Wishes Amber, for your health and your continued success!
Amber comes to Dynamic Touch Massage for Sports Massage and Therapy when she’s training at home.

What is Lymphatic Massage?? A light massage technique that improves lymph flow, which removes harmful fluids from the tissues and increases immune function.
Lymphatic Massage- what can it be used for?
- Speeds recovery for individuals who have recently had surgery, especially liposuction, or hip/knee/shoulder joint.
- Reduces inflammation and swelling from sports injuries
- Enhances the immune system for individuals with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
The therapists at Dynamic Touch are specially trained for Lymphatic Techniques, and use their experience (over 22 years combined!) to assess your special needs and to customize a session that will give you the most benefit possible. Call if you have questions, 949-650-4240
If you know anyone going through Cancer treatment, please let them know that Massage can be good for them, if done by a trained professional. Massage for Cancer (also called Oncology Massage) is very gentle. No aggressive, firm techniques are used; only light, gentle touch to work out tension and ease pain. Studies have shown that massage can reduce the side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation, such as nausea, constipation, fatigue, insomnia, and muscle atrophy. And when the mind is stressed, the body doesn’t heal well, so the relaxation achieved during an oncology massage session can be extremely healing.
The therapists at Dynamic Touch are capable of working with cancer patients, even if they have implanted devices or radiation burns. We know what areas to avoid, and how to make the massage comfortable and relaxing. We are happy to discuss each individual’s unique situation and answer all questions prior to coming in. Two locations in Orange County- Costa Mesa and Mission Viejo.
John LOVES to play basketball! Unfortunately, 8 months ago he jumped up for a rebound and came down hard on his left hip. Ever since then he has had hip pain, which inhibits his basketball game, and even prevents him from walking comfortably. His MD said the X-rays look good, but would do exploratory surgery if he wanted… NO WAY! He came to our Costa Mesa Clinic for a Sports Therapy Massage, where his therapist worked on the muscles of the trunk and the legs. Whaddaya know… the hip pain began to subside after the first session. His therapist also gave him some stretches that he can do on his own, as well as a little self-massage, and he’s well on his way to recovery. “Because of the hip pain it was hard to keep up with my wife when we went walking, and all of a sudden, I’m able to go faster than her again! And the guys on the court noticed I got back some of my old moves.”

Did you know that the Best of the Best swimmers are coming to Orange County in August for two swim meets? Go Team!
I was invited by USA Swimming to do sports massages for the swimmers at the Nationals meet, as well as the camp for the Pan Pacific meet later the same month. Last year I went to a Post-Graduate National Team swim training camp at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center. I did sports massage therapy for the group, and reacquainted with some of the swimmers that I’ve been watching and working with for 10 years, and met some new up-and-comers. What a fabulous group of athletes! It’s great to be able to do sports massage for such elite athletes who understand the benefits of the work. I am thrilled for them and their accomplishments, and can’t wait to see them shine again right here in our home town of Orange County.

Evonne came to Dynamic Touch near the end of her marathon training program. Her race date was close, only a few weeks away, and she was having pain near the end of every long run. Originally she had hoped that this race would be the one where she would qualify for Boston, but by that time she was worried that she might not be even able to finish this race, let alone qualify. (The holy grail: qualifying for the Boston Marathon requires a marathon finishing time of right around 4 hours- that’s fast!).
After a few visits to Dynamic Touch for Sports/Therapeutic massage, here’s how Evonne’s race went:
“I qualified for Boston and got 4th place in my age group! I didn’t have any issues with my legs other than typical fatigue, and my legs were right back to normal as soon as I crossed the finish line. Thank you so much, I really feel like the Sports Massages have helped me a lot!”

If you’re stressed, YES, of course, you need a massage! Who doesn’t?
You deal with deadlines, long lines, short tempers, and your dog’s indigestion. We’re all at the receiving end of things we would rather not deal with. Massage can be the valve that eases the pressure.
Cortisol is an important hormone in the body, secreted by the adrenal glands. It has beneficial functions when it is present in normal amounts. Higher and more prolonged levels of cortisol in the bloodstream (like those associated with chronic stress) have been shown to have negative effects, such as:
Sugar Metabolism (Sugar Cravings and abdominal fat)
Inflammatory Response (joint and muscle pain)
To keep cortisol levels healthy, you can learn to relax your body with various stress management techniques (exercise and meditation), and you can make lifestyle changes in order to keep your body from reacting to stress in the first place. Massage has been found by many to be very helpful in relaxing the mind, and aiding the body in maintaining healthy cortisol levels.
Set your appointment today for a healing, de-stressing massage. Call 949-650-4240, or click Make an Appointment (on the top left) to get started! We’re happy to discuss your personal situation with you.
Free China Study Summary Download
I have been exploring nutrition and health for years. While I am fully aware that I am a massage therapist, and not a nutritionist, I find myself greatly inspired to learn more.
If you’re worried about getting cancer, or working to manage high blood pressure, or trying to avoid diabetes, please read this 34-page summary.
I received for my birthday last year a book called The China Study by T. Colin Campbell. It is written by a scientist who, in the course of trying to prove that the standard American diet is healthy, proved that it is not. This book demystifies the US RDA recommendations, and debunks many nutritional myths. Few have the time to read a 350-page book, so I decided to summarize it, so more people can receive the message.
If you don’t have time to read the whole summary, read only the first two or three pages . You can get the message in a nutshell this way. However, the compelling aspect of the book is the number of peer-reviewed studies referenced that support the author’s thesis that nearly all of the diseases that plague our society can not only be prevented, but REVERSED by choosing more fruits and veggies over animal foods and processed foods.
